I Think My Child Has Mild Autism

well i have a five year old that has not yet Been diagnosed with autism his father refuses to Deal with the doctors and the problem my son is already in an early intervention program with kids with autism, for any one who is going thought this you know how challenging it can be he is such a cute child and can be so loving but there is so many people out there who can be cruel i think more people should be aware and less hypocritical

OK so it has been a bit over a month since i have aided anything to this but i just had to say we now think it is a.s.d but we have not been to a doctor yet my partner has decided to face up too it now and we have been trying to work things out, like so many families we have our ups and downs but no matter what will never think any different of our son, but when i tell other people about him they look at me like i am stupid and say he just needs a good smack and i hate that they should live in my shoes for just a day then they might think twice about saying that sorry we have had a bad few weeks

HI: I have a 15 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with Sensory Intergration Disorder. You may want to look into it as well. A lot of the issues are the same.

It must've been exciting for you to see the progress.
I know what you mean about seeing the personality in kids with autism; it sure is fun.
Instead of wondering where this boy is going to be years from now I am trying to simply enjoy him NOW.

We have a boy with autism. He's five and speaks a little, sometimes coming out with spontaneous remarks and it is a golden sound to us. Would you mind saying if your daughter is speaking in a typical fashion now? And, since I imagine she is, what age did she begin that on a regular basis? See, I am just so looking forward to talking with my boy...
