Small, Slimy and Oozing Pus

Sorry about the title but these things are foul, are they not?  I am trying Aciclovar cream covered with a Compeed patch.  I have cancelled a hot date tonight and re-scheduled for Friday and now I am hoping it will go by then.  I think it is long enough but I don't trust it - sometimes these sores go but more often they erupt.  I wish I'd caught the sore at the tingle stage with ice and Aciclovar but I woke early from feeling the tingle and, instead of getting up, I just lay there feeling tired.  Now I'm paying for it.

I use rubbing alcohol, it hurts like hell but I have had cold sores my entire life and this is the only topical remedy that has ever worked for me, ever! I had previously used Abrevia and that had worked better then anything else I had tried up until the rubbing alcohol, but they still wouldn't be completely gone for weeks! So I looked up remedys online and the simpilest one was rubbing alcohol. It instructed me to pop any blisters( which terrified me because normally if those pop it spreads the virus further!) but I went ahead and did it, and applied rubbing alcohol right away! It hurt so bad I wanted to scream! But I kept doing it, I applied rubbing alcohol at least three times a day, usually way more, and the little sucked had completely dried up in two days. Then once I knew the "tingling" had stopped and the virus was dead I applied antibacterial ointment to it a few times a day and it didnt even leave a red mark! Now I swear by this treatment, it is painful but it is worth it!

I had been a victim 3 -4 times in the past. just yesterday i bounced upon the site This was pretty useful. the discussion on medicines for cold sores is in detail and very useful
