At 40...

My son had just begun kindergarten, I was recently divorced and wanted to be able to support us both. We were living with my parents and I gave myself 2 years to learn something practical. I applied myself to a Hotel/Restaurant-focus in Business, with a minor in Travel...I loved it! I did my practical internship in the college kitchen and was hired there after I graduated, as an assistant manager.

I did very well, I believe, because I was older and very motivated. I was able to get and maintain a 3.8 GPA and graduated at 40 yrs old as a Phi Theta Kappa member...

Congratulations. I too am a Phi Theta Kappa member!

Great motivating story... You are never too old and now you are a great role model for your child. Never give up!
