have a dog named Dixie Mae. She is a one year old Cocker Spaniel Lab mix. She is a rescue dog from a animal shelter. She was found wondering the streets all alone. She is very timid especially if you raise your voice or a hand, she'll just hit the floor terrified. She is very obidient and doesn't leave my side for anything. My dog is my world, I wouldn't know what to do without her. She is my sunshine to any and every bad day. However, there is one thing she does that I do not understand. She licks EVERYTHING! No matter what it is. The floor, the window, herself, and she'll lick me or anyone else to death! Not sure why she does it and if this habit is what is contributing to her bad breath problem that I can't seem to get rid of. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the bad breath or what all this licking is about would be very nice! Thanks!

  | Posted May 19th, 2008 at 6:37AM My dog also was a rescue and very nervous at first and had some strange behaviour but now he is just fine , just a bit clingy at times   |
 | Posted May 19th, 2008 at 8:43AM Dixie and I have been together since February and she has somewhat gotten over following absolutely everywhere for the most part. I was told Labs have separation axiety, so maybe hers is just a bit extreme because she was abandoned. Thanks for your comment. |
