I have had a dog almost all of the time since I was about 12. I have had small dogs. I have had a Toy Poodle, a Rat Terrier, and now currently I have a quarter Chihuahua, quarter Terrier, and half Mini Pinscher. I have had a large dog. He was a Doberman Pinscher and I miss him very much. Then again, I miss all of the animals that I have lost.
My current puppy is named Mouse. I named him this because he is small and meek. Also, when his ears flop back he looks like a rodent. He has this knack for getting to things that I thought was secure. When he is sleeping he likes to stick all four paws straight out like a dead horse. He also loves to sit on your shoulder, don't ask me why.
He is just finishing teething, so he still like to chew on people. We almost have that habit broken. I don't why he chews on people he has about six different chew toys (I like to make sure that he has choices and that he likes the toys). He has learned to sit, take treats nicely, and not to jump up on people. I think we finally have mastered potty training too. I have trained him to use a litter box so that when we are at work he can stay in the house.
He is also a true lap dog. He loves to sleep under the covers at my knees, using my knee as a pillow. When I am working on the computer or watching TV he will force his head into my lap so that I can pet his head. He is always demanding loving. He really is a member of our family. I wouldn't give him up for anything. I would feed him before I took food for myself.
