SIMONICUS

S imon was a resue who came to me by way of a breeder. I used to have a Newfy Lab cross who has been gone for 10 years now and was the best friend, dog, companion and soulmate ever! When I heard of Simon, I knew he belonged here. He was sent back to the breeder by his owner because he was limping and his paw quivered. They wanted him to pull a cart.  He has been with me for 5 months. He has gained 35 lbs and hasn't limped in ages!!  He does have a paw that "quivers", like if you lean on a nerve!?!  It doesn't seem to bother him at all though!  He has had a full orthopedic workup and was given a clean bill of health!

He is a baby, in age and in actions. He neglects all of his toys for more enticing chewables and because he is so tall, he can reach just about anything unless it is in a closed closet!!  Talk about baby proofing!!

He understands voice as well as hand commands and obeys them most of the time!!  He cracks us up when he doesn't want to do something, like lie down, he will give a long, long sigh and throw himself down with a resounding thunk of protest!!  He will also give us a sideways glance to see if we are paying attention if he wants something forbidden!!  He is like a 2yr old child!!

He Loves to go for walks, run free at the academy and it's trails and play with other dogs. He also loves playing fetch with his new ball with a handle!!  He will go through a huge nyla bone in 4 days and a stuffed toy is unstuffed in one day!!  He squeaks his "baby" and will cry then squeak it again and repeat this for hours!!  He also LOVES to put whatever toy he has on the keyboard or your hand or face until you play. If you take it away, he rests his head on you and moves his eyes only, giving the most pathetic looks!! 

He makes it very hard to be angry or upset because he makes me laugh!!

I am sure the Angels sent him to me!!
