Pled Guilty And Was Sentenced Today

Hi there,

My partner went to court today and pled guilty without a lawyer (duty counsel spoke to sentence). He was sentenced the minimum for a first offence, 1 year driving probition with an opportunity to apply for Ignition Interlock after three months suspensio as well as a $1000 fine. No Victim surcharge.

Other people who pled guilty had a high priced lawyer and got exactly the same sentence. My guy saved $1,500. Yay!!!!

    Wow, is it really that bad. He is really happy that he can drive to appts. etc. at all after three months. He'll put up with anything! By the way, how often does the system ask for a rolling test?

    Interlocks!!!! Ahhhh!!!! I cried when mine was uninstalled. Worst thing about a DUI besides jail holding for 15 hours. California makes you get them in for first time offenders for five months. Worst five months of my life and the thing drained my new car battery.
