Rog...thanks. I feel like I don't know him really. He has lived in another State far from me for years now. I only remember him as a teenager.

This is a very sad situation. It is a strange, but very common, phenomenon that many people who were abused, whether sexually or physically, go on to do the same to others, despite the misery they suffered. I hope that you will be spared a situation where he goes and commits a similar offense again.



I am sorry you have had to go through all this, on top of the earlier molestation you suffered.

Kim and Muguet, thanks so much for commenting. I still feel badly for my brother. I remember him as a child, very sensitive and kind and it was all taken away from him. He even won the Gerber baby contest and got his picture on the baby food jar. Ohhh he was so sweet but abuse ruined him. He is dark, distant, angry, cannot feel much emotion and it's very hard to reach him. We have not been close for years for other reasons but I do wonder what would he have become had those horrible things not happened to him. Breaks my heart.

I'm sorry that you had to live through that as a child. I can't even begin to imagine what the two of you had to endure. It sounds like you're much more resilient than your brother. I know what he did was inexcusable, but my heart still goes out to him. What a heartbreaking situation.

rose, this was a year ago...he served his time. His daughter has not lived with him for 3 years now. She is safe.

I'm sorry you are going through this. (((hugs))) What happened after the six months? Is his daughter somewhere safe?

Hey Kindal, I'm really sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you! I can understand how an abuse, physical, mental, sexual, can have on a person and change his/her life and how he/she sees it, esp. if it happens during the childhood. I have narrowly escaped molestation from the hands of my friend's grand father(sexual). I just ran home from there. I have witnessed my parents fight a lot all the time(domestic abuse), and it has definitely shaped my personality the wrong way. It would kill me inside. It has impregnated fear, embarrassment in my mind. I did not have any friends. I LOVE MY PARENTS A LOT and they would be hurt if they know I've written about it here, but I just wanted to share some truth about my life with you. Kindal, please support your brother during therapy. He was abused as a child. He would have never done it otherwise (not sure if that made your brother do it). He needs help and you should give your best to him, if you can. Pray for him. Child molestation has to be stopped and should never be supported. Take care.
