"larp" Fun - With Pics!

(LARP means live action roleplay, usually a term for people who run around in groups pretending to be vampires or what have you in formal, structured roleplaying games. But it seems appropriate for me to borrow to use here.)

Last week, inspired by a friend who'd done this and loved it, I ordered a handful of inexpensive wigs - all long, and all in shades close to my own color - to get to experience an IRL version of the text role-playing I do. They came on Friday, and by happy coincidence my husband ended up going out with a few old coworkers for a few hours, leaving the coast clear to play.

So here's what it looked like before...



This style of bangs makes me look really young, I think. Not sure it suits me.  So let's do something about that...




Hmm.  Not sure the short bangs with long hair works for me.  Well, I can't un-cut the bangs, so...





That's much better.  Wow, a bob like that looks pretty good on me!  Still not big on the bangs, but it's definitely better.  I could really rock a short haircut, I think.  Maybe.  

What do you think?  I have another one I'm going to have some fun with next week, a curly style.  I'll get a pic of me wearing it and see what y'all suggest I do with it...

    Awesome story, very creative. What a great way to satisfy a hair fetish. Really liked the pictures with the scissors in the hair waiting to be cut. My wife and I talked about using wigs a few times but never went out and bought some. Looks like something I need to reconsider. Would definitely like to see more of you doing that. Instead of ponytail cut next time, maybe cutting off one thick lock at a time. So how great of an experience was it for you?

    My wife lets me have role playing nights every now and then, we play hairdressers where I get her to dress up in wigs and outfits and comes to the hairdresser, me. I get her to ring for a appointment and we sit on the lounge and talk about what she wants done today and look through hair magazines before we go out to my make shift salon in the laundry. We usually do 3 or 4 different wigs and outfits from just a quick trim to long to short makeover . We also use the role playing to practice a hair style that my wife wants to go to so we can get an idea what it will look like.It is the greatest buzz of all having one of these nights . Enjoy your wig cutting , I know I do.

    Awesome... thanks for sharing that with us! I do wig cutting on my wife from time to time and it's a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing more.

      Why thank you! LOL the cleanup hadn't even occurred to me until partway through when I realized I was going to need to break out the vacuum when I was done, lol.

      I had a *lot* of fun with it. There was another one that no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to look right at all, so I got angry and just grabbed the scissors and hacked it all off. It was awesome! No pics though, wasn't really thinking about that at the time.
