I Have a High Pain Tolerance
So about a year ago I was having some pain in my back. I have back problems and I figured that was what it was. I continued putting it off and working my job and hanging with friends like usual. I even went to six flags and road a bunch of rollercoasters.. Well weeks later I woke up and I couldn't walk. I couldn't lift my left leg without having horrible pain. I continued to put it off more that day thinking somehow I just pulled a muscle until finally the pain was unbearable and my mother drove me to the ER and wheelchaired me in because I couldn't walk. Well, I began throwing up and getting the chills and it was all pretty bad. I got xrays done and they said I had a large mass on my kidney. I was so scared I didn't know what as going on! They rushed me up to the city to a different hospital with more specialized doctors. Come to find out I had an abcess on my kidney and I was in the hospital for weeks! I couldn't walk and I almost died from the infection. The doctor told me the infection was beginning to reach my bloodstream and if I would have waited longer then I probably would have died. WOW big shock for me. I think I have an EXTREME tolerance to internal pain... and internal pain only because the shots and IVs hurt like hell... While in the hospital I underwent a kidney biopsy where they used a puncher thing to take out a part of my kidney.. however since the kidney moves up and down when you breathe I couldn't be put to sleep and my kidney couldn't be numbed for the biopsy. they took out part of the abscess out to test it and part of my kidney to test that aswell. it was very painful but i never cried or squinted once. weird. also the whole time i was in the hospital the nurses and my mom begged me to take pain medication but i refused because they make me really sick to my stomache so i dealt with the pain and shrugged off their advice for medication!! :)
