I used to have a brilliant friend who had Alzheimer.  He died a year ago.  But before his death I used to tell him that I was suffering from Alzheimer's disease since my early childhood.

Some people are convinced that I have an incredible memory.  The opposite is true.  I can't even remember the names of colleagues I've been working with for many years.  Socially it's a disaster.

I see someone approaching me and I feel the panic.  A second ago I still knew his or her name and now, much to my embarrassment, I don't remember.  It's imaginable that I don't even remember the names of my own brothers and sisters.

I'm suffering in silence and without any hope.
