My Husband Is Jealous of Nearly Everything

How does he spend his time? Unoccupied men can be a right menace! (Speaking as one :P)

I would tell him that you don't want to be in a relationship with someone that can't trust you.

I have asked him to go walking. But he doesn't much want to do that. He wants me to sit and watch tv with him - generally things that I don't really like - like hunting, poker tournaments, shows about working on cars, etc.

He likes auctions, piddling with his old car & hanging out with a few friends at a gas station. He buys bunches of scratch off tickets and shoots the breeze with them.

I don't mind an auction a couple of times a year. If you go every week, it is boring to me. I don't like to just sit, so if I bring a book or some craft project along, he gets mad. He is jealous of everything and everybody.

Christmas and vacations when I get to see my grandkids is generally a real bad scene after a few days because he is jealous of little kids! We try to include him & get him to play games or work on puzzles, but he wants to run everything. That gets old fast.

I don't like to just sit idlly and watch tv - so I try to crochet or read a book & that makes him mad. He is just a control person, I think.

His jealousy must be coming from his insecurities but you can't let it smother your spirit. Jealousy is fear and false beliefs. Maybe you can find a way to change his beliefs and eliminate his fear.

I agree with findinme, especially about the nature of his jealousy.

No, he wasn't! In fact this week after work, I had to go to a meeting in the evening with two co-workers. Then on Saturday, I spent the day with one of my best friends, who I haven't seen for several months. Yesterday & today he is just awful - almost impossible to deal with. Instead of making me want to spend more time with him, it makes me want to go get in the car and get out of the house - anything to get away from the negativity.
