My Goal

I haven't always had a plan in life. I'm sort of a go-with-the-flow person and usually I end up in an okay place. But a few months ago it was like I was just so tired of doing that whole "What Will Happen Next" routine. And I thought about what I wanted and what I was going to contribute to the world.
For some reason I have always wanted to move. I have lived in a quaint town all my life and while it is pretty and I go to a great school and have a lot of friends, I have always been itching to live somewhere else and experience new, great things. This past year, my sister went on foreign exchange for eleven months and adored it. I have never liked doing anything my older sister has done, but it seemed like the perfect thing for me.
My life plan so far: (I have gone over it in my head every single day)
Maintain good grades
Tutor smaller children
Volunteer in my town (There are a couple things I'd like to try :D)
Learn either Mandarin, French, or Arabic (I am already doing Spanish)
Stay committed to what I love doing
Apply for foreign exchange programs
Get In!
Right now I'm looking towards Asia. I love Europe, but it seems just a little bit too much like America, and I have already been to three Central and South American countries, so Asia is my next stop! I want to build relationships in China or Taiwan and slowly work from there. Plus my mom wants me to go to university in a big city where there are a lot of job opportunities. I am just really excited for this.
Sometimes I hear about aspiring athletes or famous people who meant to be something else other than what they are. I know this might happen to me, but it's a better start than what I had a year ago. It will help me stay motivated and stay on track.
So even though I might end up doing something else, for now I am going to pour my heart and soul into my life plan and just see where my hard work takes me.

Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders! Always be willing to try new things, see new places, and have new experiences. Travel as much as you can, it is the best way to broaden your views and become tolerant towards people of all races and cultures.

Thank you. Sometimes I go places and think "Oh geez, I can't do this." And I have to get used to all of the sights and smells. But I'm determined to get there. So to do that, I have to get out of my comfort zone. It's hard, but I'm trying. :)
