I'd say keep doing what you're doing. You will conquer it. You are very strong for not taking the medication, some of that cr ap will destroy your body. I ended up with diabetes, f ucked up liver and possibly some brain damage, i dont' know yet, maybe i wasn't on them long enough (6 years). Lost 6 years of my life watching it through a tv box and not really participating emotionally, i was dosile, i had no energy which effected my work. My sex drive affected my marriage. I gained 100lbs which even made me more paranoid. When you go onto a bus or anywhere for that matter, people stare at you. I know i don't know you but i am so proud of you. You are very strong and i wish more people could do what you do instead of poising their bodies and being pawns of the mental health industry and the pharmaceutical companies. This website might help a bit incase you haven't been there already. http://bipolarblast.wordpress.com/

Thanks for the continued inspiration :)

There are other medications like mood stabilizers and anti psychotics which could help with your many diagnosis, such as lithium which is a mood stabilizer. I am not sure if you have tried any of these medications, as sometimes even if you try them some wont work for different people or more in dosage is needed or you haven't got the combination right, sometimes it takes awhile. People who have bipolar normally don't do very well on an anti-depressant alone.

If you have tried these other drugs and they haven't worked then there are a few other things you could try. Meditation and breathing/body exercises can help calm the brain which reduces racing thoughts, anger, anxiety and agitation. you can learn these techniques form CBT therapists and on the internet. i suggest having someone teaching and walking through it with you is more helpful.

Sometimes we can go to therapy for ages and we don't get anything out of it, sometimes it is the lack of connection between therapist and patient, sometimes its because the therapist is useless and sometimes its because we are not ready to change. if it is one of these reasons you might want to try another therapist and make sure all the above fits into place.

Daily exercise can help improve your mood and energy levels.

The last thing is vitamin supplements. making sure our body has the correct nutrition will help your body respond correctly when stress hits. though bear in mind supplement such as fish oil takes a while to kick and in and work but is defiantly a good way to go. Magnesium helps with stress reduction as well.

I am not a doctor but i have struggled with mental illness since i was 13 years old and i am now diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychosis, PTSD and Panic attacks and social anxiety disorder. I am on 4G of fish oil daily, a mulit -vitamin and a multi anti-oxidant from Usana which i have been very helpful and not only for my mental health i also take lithium and quetiapine.

I know it is hard to live and survive this illness but i am here if you ever want to talk because sometimes that is helpful to. You are not alone.
