    Hello Miss Brut,

I used to commit things to memory but now I send emails or write up contracts in my 12x8 notebook (If that monster still qualifies as a notebook) during face to face meetings. We sign right there and start the relationship.

    So, I have 1 pen

Well. I certainly think it qualifies as a notebook, many of mine are larger, almost the size of a magazine.
I prefer paper to computers, I have an iPhone but never use the notes app.
Well, it seems as though in your case, one pen will be sufficient. Thank you for commenting, and have a wonderful day...

Lol me too! I just hate discovering I am without pen and paper and now make sure they are in my bag or pocket along with my keys.

And also have a pot of pens and notebook by my bed

I love Moleskins Cinder ... I always have one handy ... but I do love notebooks generally and have lots of different ones on the go at any one time. I always have at least one by my bed with a few pens in case of night-time scribble impulses.

    thanks, gladiate!

yes, people have gotten used to me carrying one around, like when we go to dinner or something like that. At first it was like, "what's that?" now it's "where is your notebook?" I feel naked and blind without it, not to mention very anxious. Thanks for commenting.

As a journalist, I believe in the importance of recording ones thoughts. I don't always practice what I preach, but on many an occasion I likely draw attention to myself when carrying a notepad around with me - and writing down what passes through my mind.

It's always good to see someone else who shares this practice.

I basically used to two before I started carrying a PDA everywhere. For most things, that still works. But yeah, I bet my reasons were pretty much the same too... Sometimes I find those old notebooks and they are windows into the past... Carbon date 'em and prove I didn't make anything up over the Last two years, LOL :-D

Exactly, giggles. I can't really sleep if I don't have one next to me. Sometimes, I actually put one IN the bed with me, with a pen stuffed inside the spiral spine :-)

Thanks for commenting and have a nice day :-)

I enjoyed reading this, I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who has a plethora of notebooks in every size and shape laying everywhere so I'm never at a loss when I need to write. I can't turn out the light until I know my paper/pen/reading glasses are close at hand. Blessed be....

Oh I'm so sorry. I hope you didn't think I was trivializing your disorder in any way. I may not have the exact same thing but I do have PTSD that causes me to be on another plane at times, nightmeres and be really cautious of others.

I really do have that disorder-it's because of childhood trauma. My friend pointed that out to me-I had never thought about it before, because she was a joker, and would say something-and even if it was outrageous, I would think it were true...it has something to do with being guarded.

oh sorry...I am too literal sometimes... *grinning* And have that disorder where you can't read people's intentions, it's weird. I never get the joke :-( But it was funny-it's me not you!

No, I just meant that they are mostly little clips of phrases, words and pictures-not very...narrative, like for instance "Today I think..." or "Why this" or "I want"...

    Mystik, you said ;

if anyone did read them, they would not have a clue what was going on anyway

So asking if your journals were encrypted (text in code and secured) was my poor attempt at humor. :)

Thought maybe you wrote them , not in english but where only you and you alone could understand them. I was kidding.

Mystik, lol what do you write encrypted or something? When I was in Jr High I remember the teaching passing out papers and I loved the smell of them mmmm and loved holding a stack of papers. I really thought I was going to be a teacher just so I could be around all that paper. Silly I know tee hee.

Oh thanks, Kindal. I don't especially care what they read after I am dead...and when I am alive, I say what I want to say anyway...so there is really no harm in them, for me. I always take a pen and parer wherever I go, I don't want to be without a way to write down any impressions I have of life at any given time. My friend said to get a voice recorder, but I like writing-I like the smell of ink, the crinkle of paper. I have probably 30 journals from the last 10 years! Besides, if anyone did read them, they would not have a clue what was going on anyway...Thanks for commenting.

I kept a diary for years until I was in my mid twenties. Something tragic happened. I lost a loved one and decided if I ever died I would not want anyone to read the pages therin so I burned them all, books after books after notebooks of years of journaling gone........poof sizzle. I don't really regret it but admire that you can write and feel safe leaving them all over.

I only have paper notebooks, lilt. I enjoy the feeling of the pages and holding a pen. I like to see my writing. I don't hide them, I leave them laying all over the place, usually...
