Soon To Be A New Tiel Mommy!!

I am going to ohio to adopt my very first cockatiel! the information i have on him is,hes obviously a male,he was adpopted from his owner at 6 months and she has had him for a year,so hes a year and a half. i had pictures sent to me of the little guy and he looks very healthy!! i was told he sings and whistles and isnt loud or goes crazy. Also told that he is loving and hasnt bit anyone until recently due to lack of attention,for how long im not sure but from the sounds of the owner he isnt aggressive. I am CONSTANTLY reading anything and everything about cockatiels from where they first came from to egg laying. I have a female fancy rat that is a year old also. I havnt met this handsome tiel yet but I am VERY passionate about animals and treat them just like my own children. Im willing to take time and give him all my patients in helping him to stop his biting and to get settled into his new home with me and my family. any personal advice on introducing a new tiel to a new environment/home i would appreciate very much!!
