Hi Steve,Thank you.I think it's not a Picture of Jesus as in a God or a Son of God even. It's just a picture of someone vulnerable and so strained. It's simply human.A lot of us have been where he was. That's all i wanted to point out :)

I'm not a religious person at all, but this painting just blew me away.. for all of the reasons mentioned above.

As if he knows what the road ahead entails... a huge burden on his shoulders and a solitary realisation that mankind is doomed.

It is isn't it sweetie?....i haven't seen a more suffering christ in any painting. The most brutal crucifixion paintings got nothing on this one.I'm so sorry about that kitti....yes it is.I completely agree.Russian artists can a knack for portraying misery in such a good way...You're welcome, sweetie

Wow ... the picture the picture is strong ...but your post made me look at it again ...... I can appreciate it now a little better ... I think I have seen that look a few times in my life in my own mirror .. it is amazing how a brush in the hands of a great artist can create something that can move people to reflect on their own lives ... thank you darling this was quite a paniting :)
