Good Or Bad?

As far back as I can remember I have had a soft spot for "broken people". I'm not sure if it a good thing or a bad thing. On the plus side, everybody needs somebody. No matter what our issues we all deserve to be treated humanely, and with dignity. We all need somebody to talk to and confide in. Sometimes the misguided and those who have veered off track just need a positive influence, somebody to show them that it is not hopeless, to show them the way back. I know I have helped many throughout the years and some I have lost. At times I even lost myself on their journey, but I wouldnt have been able to sleep if I hadnt tried. I have worked alot with children. When I was pregnant with my second and was suppose to be on bedrest I had anywhere from 1 or 2 all the way up to 15 (no exaggeration) kids running around my home. They were kids off the street that had adopted me as their pseudomom. With me they finally found the attention they sought, the mentoring they needed and the love they so desperately craved. Most were from broken homes, abused, neglected etc. But when they were with me they thrived. Grades went up, behavior improved and their overall health (both mental and physical) improved. I am in no way a saint, nor would I ever claim to be. I am just one person trying to do all that I can to make a difference. Imagine if we all did this, the possibilities would be endless!
