Lost Years

My mother was diagonsed with Psychosis 4 years ago. She was told she had Age Related Macular Degeneration of the eye and it devistated her. I had to comit her to a psychiatric unit for two weeks and when she came home she seemed a little better. However she has never recovered and is on two types of medication and seeing a psychiatrist still.
My poor dad has to live with her and I know he is very upset that she hasn't recovered. I'm helping all I can but I feel there has to be another way of helping her than just drugs. Can anyone offer some advice.

My mom just got out of a psychiatric hospital. However, they let her go because they don't believe they can do anything. They explained that she will never be the same and always will have to deal with psychosis. Most of the time she is home alone. I worry a lot, and I feel that staying in that house constantly is the worse things for her. I feel like this is a hopeless situation. I have no rights to help her. I don't know what the future holds. It's a sad and hopeless situation.
