I have just now read your story of reading addiction. It has been over a year. Is your experience still the same? I am curious.

I looked it up on reading addiction online and you should try to do other activities to BALANCE it out with the reading.

It sounds to me as if you are using books as your security blanket and protector from the real world.

Yeah, books are great. Yeah, books educate you. Yeah, books are exciting and i believe a valuable tool for self progression, BUT they are also escapism and it seems to me that you are using books to escape something.

A little escapism is good for you and very relaxing, but in the extreme it can remove you from the real world entirely.

The first thing to do is try to understand what you are escaping from and deal with that.

Then you can try and ease yourself back into the real world and just use books as a relaxant, a way to unwind a little.

I hope you find your answers and it all works out.

Ive thought about it like that as well, but its still not enough to make me stop. God even when I try to it doesnt last long. I cant go out without at least a book in my bag. And the thing is, all the books I read are all in a foreign language and have nothing to do with what I really need to read for my studies.

Any kind of addiction is difficult to deal with. The good thing is that books are actually good for you in moderation whereas most addictions are bad even at low limits.
Try to count your average books per week. Then try to cut that down by one book a week until you are back to sensible limits.
Try to keep yourself busy and active when you are not reading a book that way you will be less likely to pick up a book and more likely to find enjoyment in another activity.
After a while the desire becomes less intense and you will find it easier to control.
Remember, never let the tail wag the dog. It is up to you to gain control.

I have the same problem but I'm still in 6th grade and the last time I separated from my book I was so frustrated I got a high fever.

Try to balance reading & other things to do. Equal reading, equal whatever else.
