I Have a Scar
Most people are appalled by scars. They cover them with makeup, rub lotions and creams on them to try to lighten them up...My scar is the most important part of my body to me. I wear mine proudly, for without it, I wouldn't be here today. It is about 3 inches long, across my upper stomach area, and the result of an almost always fatal problem, Pyloric Stenosis. PS is very rare in girls, which is why it is usually fatal, and it almost wasn't caught in time for me. My mom had to take me out of town, and when she finally found a doctor that knew what was wrong, they did emergency surgery. He stated I wouldn't have been alive another day without the surgery. Granted, my scar looks funny when I get a tan, because I have a white indention across my stomach, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am thankful for every day I wake up, and my scar is my reminder.
