i have this scar in the centre of my forehead.... a few days after i was born a so called 'birthmark' started growing - the doctors at the time said it wouldn't get any bigger and everything would be okay.. well they were wrong it grew and grew - i looked like an alien, dono how my mum brought me out in public to be honest!!! :P eventually how i like to describe it was like half a tomato on my head but as i got older 6ish the colour faded and the thing got a little smaller. it was horrible people asking oh whats that and calling me 3eyes and stuff, to this day its really effected me. when i was about 10 i got it removed and was told to rub E45 on it and the scar would go away but what do doctors know.. that didnt work either!! im still so self conscious about some people ask me about it, so i've finally made an appointment with a plastic surgeon to see what he can do for me.... hopefully i wont be haunted with this forever.

so that date finally came and went i had an operation on thursday to remove the scar tissue that was left behind - due to get stitches out on tuesday..... can't wait for a couple of months down the lines when its healed and i can see the true result (:

The best thing you can do for your scar is to live life like it doesnt even exist! The more you are ok with it the less people will notice or even care as far as that goes. Eventually your friends will not even notice it and when you are out others wont care either because it will be obvious you don't. I just turned 40 this year and finally know what life is all about. It is truly an attitude. You have a scar and I am not a very attractive man. I am what I am and you are what you are. People like me because of me and I am sure they do the same for you. We are the ones that make it an issue. If you could see yourself through the eyes of others the problems woudlnt seem so bad. In the famous last words of a man...trust me! Seriously, dont let something you only PERCEIVE as bad to keep your true beauty from showing!

A friend's daughter has what you describe, except hers is on her nose. The little girl (5 now) is, like you. quite self concious about it. They've been told to wait for her mid teens to do plastic surgery. In my mind that seems like too long for a precious girl to wait. I hope your procedure goes well. Get several opinions and don't automatically choose the cheapest. Stay strong, smallG.

i have scars all over my left arm, used to put E45 on it alll the time when i was younger lol. Atleast when its my arm, i could always cover it up when i was younger because i hated it, but now i dont care.

  did you find the e45 worked?? wish i didnt care about it, but i'm pretty selfconscious as it is and this just makes it worse!

  no its didnt reli work, its just stopped me from sratching my arm all the time, i use oil now instead of E45, and im still selconscious about my arm, but im not sure if i want any more operations done, i've had enough of them whilst growing up
