It's On My Leg

I had a growth on my leg when I was eleven. Had no idea what it was at first. It was just a little bubble that if it got bumped would bleed and bleed and bleed. It would trickle blood for thirty minutes sometimes before it'd finally heal up. I wore a bandage over it at all times just in case.

A month after it started my mum finally took me into the emergency and they told me it was just a bundle of blood cells that had all decided to build up in one place. I was eleven so how he actually said it was that my blood cells were having a party on my leg.

He gave two removal options. He could cut it off and leave a scar or he could use the laser. I was eleven, I wanted the laser. I would have been so happy to tell all my friends that somebody shot me with a laser. Mum said no and so instead I got a six inch long needle jabbed into my leg to numb the area and they guy cut off the little bubble no larger than the end of a pencil eraser taking with it a chunk of skin the size of a quarter.

Not very big but it was pretty ugly. It's not too bad now, it's faded and stretched a bit flatter. But you can still tell where I had a tiny chunk of my leg cut out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have the thing off my leg! Who knows, maybe it was deep enough the doctor had to cut wider around the thing. At eleven years old though lasers are just too cool to pass up ;D
