I Have A Secret To Share
I don't respect my sister , nor do I like her much. In fact, I would never have chosen her as a friend, and I find her shamefully embarrassing.
Mostly, I dislike that she suffers from schadenfreude -- a German word meaning she takes joy in the suffering of others, and she also enjoys controlling people like puppets, even though she isn't particularly good at it. When my brother lost money, she gleefully stepped in to admonish his stupidity and how he knows nothing about investments, and he didn't deserve the money he had. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, she harped on how if Mom lived with her, she'd be fine; worse, she said, "You deserve to be sick because you don't listen to me." She has mean-spirited advice for anyone and everyone.
Best to stay away from such a person, who enjoys kicking a person when they are down. Unfortunately, she's my sister -- to paraphrase Mary in "The Other Boleyn Girl": meaning, she is half of me, and thus connected to me forever.
