Two Beds and a Coffee Machine

it reminds me of the night me and my mum ran away.

so she takes another step

slowly she opens the door

checks that he is sleeping,

picks up all the broken glass

and furniture from the floor

been up half the night screaming

now its time to get away

pack up the kids in the car

another bruise to try and hide

another alibi to write

another ditch in the road

you keep moving

another stop sign

you keep moving on

and the years go by so fast

wonder how i ever made it through

there are children to think of

babies asleep in the backseat

wonder how theyll ever make it through this living night mare

but the mind is an amazing thing

full of candy dreams and new toys

and another cheap hotel

two beds and a coffee machine

but there are groceries to buy

and she knows she has to go home

another ditch in the road

you keep moving

another stop sign

you keep moving on

and the years go by so fast

wonder how i ever made it through

another bruise to try and hide

another alibi to write

another lonely highway in the black of night

but theres hope in the darkness

you know you're going to make it

another ditch in the road

you keep moving

another stop sign

you keep moving on

and the years go by so fast

sailing fortress built to last

wonder how i ever made it

Wow. That's powerful imagery ..

Both of those songs are very touching and do the same to me, Ashley, have you ever heard Wynonna Judd's version of that song?

Mine is..." I Can Only Imagine" Even just the first few notes of that song will forever stop me in my tracks. A good lifetime friend..who was also my cousin's fiancee died at a VERY early age. And at his funeral..for the very first time..I heard that song played. Any time since then..it will always freeze me..and break my heart!
