Black Lines In Swimming Pools

You know those lines on the bottom that help swimmers stay in a straight line? well they creeped me out as a kid and they still kind of do to this day. I think because I started watching horror movies at a young age that I thought the black lines would turn into holes and something nasty would come out of it and make a grab for me. Uuughh I remember one time during swimming classes for school I made sure I kept my feet off the lines. Sort of humourous when you think about it. Anyway I'd say it's more of a dislike than an actual fear. I'd be suprised if I'm the only one who feels this way about them.

I am afraid of them, last night I had a dream that I have variatons of now and then. In the dream, I joined a swim team, but I couldn't participate because I didn't want to jump into the pool. Also worth noting: the pool was 24 ft deep...deep pools also make me uncomfortable.

EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY FOR BEGING AFRAID OF THEM. But I am! Expecially the ones that go two differant ways, like diving pools? *shudder*

I can't even look at that picture you posted.. You're not the only one. Your lucky you can even swim In the same pool as them. I can't even look at them.

You're not the only one that feels this way....I've always hated them. Swimming is cool, but not when there's a bold line staring back at you. What makes this even more weird for me is, I hate deep water. Swimming pool hall just creeps me out, like the props are a reminder that there's a possibility of a drowning.

When I was little and on swim team, I thought the black line across the middle of the pool would open up and swallow me... so I swam extra fast over it. =)

Wow...that's so interesting. I thought I was the only one with weird fears as an adult woman. I don't like cargo vans...LOL They totally creep me out and if I see one in a parking lot, I will not park near it. How silly. I have had this fear since I was old enough to know what a cargo van was.
