I Have a Strong Faith In God

Somehow, people feel they need to see something, in order to believe in it.

They say that it cannot be real unless it can be seen.

They say it doesn’t exist if unless it can be grasped.

But why must we see in order to believe?

Why must everything have a scientific theory in order to be deemed probable?

If we only believed in the things which are seen,

what would we do with the unseen realities?

What about love ?

What about hope, and joy, and peace?

Where do they come from? How do they exist?

What about time? Time -an entity that has not existed forever,

but was created at a certain point.

What about faith? You can’t see it or feel it. Is it even real?

I have hope, even though all seems lost.

I have love, even though at times I cannot feel it.

I have faith, though I cannot see it.

Faith in the things you cannot see.

Faith in the things that are real.

Faith in eternity, forgiveness and redemption.

Faith in God, the creator of the unseen.

faith and trust go hand in hand....ur faith is ur trust in the God, that he will guide u in life, and provide and give u what u need, the number one thing being his love and comfort

@BrownEyedMystery - I know that with all the suffering in the world and a supposedly loving God this can be a huge thing for people to get around...but TRUE love itself cannot exist without the option and choice to hate to. You see if God intervened in suffering and hatred we wouldn't truly have freewill - and its freewill - the choice to love someone when you could hate instead that makes love so beautiful!

You cant find proof of God, if you are busy looking for proof that He doesn’t exist.

What kind of proof can change your mind if you are already convinced in a certain direction?

I think that the honest answer for most people is: nothing. If you don't want to see God, then you can block your mind from Him.

Finding God is not the issue, the issue is letting go of ideals that are not real. You can only see God, if you look.

It would be a very boring world if everybody followed god. I don't have faith in god. Give me proof he exists and then I'd consider it.

I live for the moment in the Now as in Zazen meditations and Zen is my way of life..as I meditate I feel God inside of me with a deep Soul of God there....

As stillness maintains all around me...had practiced at a construction site to get the level I am comfortable with...

Great verse. SO true huh? :)

Religion is what keeps people from knowing the truth. No offense, often people can discover God in spite of religion, but rarely because of it. Ironically the very thing that Jesus spoke against was in fact, the 'religious' hypocrisy of the day.

Hey stormy...I am not religious, Spiritual only but there is a part in the bible that leaves the whole bible finished..it is psalms 118:8 and that is all I have to the bible as I throw the book away after that phrase...

Read it when you get a chance....that is where TRUST comes from...but this is my own opinion remember

Very good point Dom. Actually I agree with you, that is a great way to put it. Trusting that it has happened (essentially) even though it might not be obvious yet.

I used the word "faith" though, because it came from reading this section in the Bible:"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith and trust are similar, but you are right "trust," in English at least, does 'sound' a lot more certain.

You can believe something about anything...it has nothing to do with faith..it is TRUST that makes the believe solidify and TRUST alone....as to say "I believe that might or will happen." But listen to this,"I will TRUST IN GOD that it has already happened." as to see a thing through as God does "as it is done."

Doesn't that sound stronger and cemented....

I have to say personally that I am also a very strong believer in faith as well I am cathloic. I belive as well in the death, burial, and resccuration!! I belive in walking by faith not by sight. I know the Lord is there and I I feel His presence, so I agree with you, you don't need to grasp something or see something to know it is there:}

its not that we have to see it to beleive it but humans are a curious race and we liked to understand. the search for info and then lack of answers might change someones views and in their eyes they have found a different side. its not a bad thiing its just different.

It's not the fact that I want to see God to believe it, it's just that the laws of his word are so... stupid sometimes. I mean, why are there people starving across the world, or being used for labor, things like that, if he loves us so much...

  you know its not Gods fault that we have disobeyed from they beginning sin is the reason things happen not cause god allows it. He gave us free will, he will not make you do something you do not want to do.

I think i often believe more the things i cant see than the things i do... because the eyes can be tricked too easily and too many "dark forces" in our world uses it against us.
