I Am a Moter and a Grandmother

It's now 2007. I'm 47 and I found out quite by accident that I have AIDS. I was choking on some foods every so often, which had my doctor do a swallow study. Because of an infection in my throat, they diagnosed AIDS. Do not know when, where, who, why. Actually did not think it could happen to an average middle age white female. But it did. If you haven't been tested then I strongly that you do, and make sur you do every 6 months if you are in a different relationship, or not 100% of the one you're in now. Rememember protect YOURSELF!!!

I think aids has to be the most heartbreaking disease of any that i know about, the disease has no bias, racial, or religious target, but yet, ppl still look at ppl with aids as if they are a politician lol.. sorry..lol but its soo true.<br />
The old saying is so true, that knowledge is power.. i wish the people who knew nothing about aids, the ones who walk across the street to avoid people with aids will one day strengthen they power in the knowledge of aids, and embrace those people with it instead of shun them.

A friend of mine that I grew up with caught AIDS from her husband who was cheating on her.She was only 32 last year when she died and left 6 children behind .This was heartbreaking.I wish all of you the best and you will be in my prayers .

I have aids too. I don't think I'll be around much longer to be honest. It's a scary thing knowing that you could catch a cold and then kop it. The other day a locksmith coughed on me and I got really scared.

I'm really sorry to hear this, and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for sharing your story, I think its important to keep getting the message out so we can fight this horrible disease.

Thank you for sharing your story-- you are in my thoughts and I hope you are doing well despite the illness. I will be participating in the San Francisco AIDS walk on Sunday to support everyone struggling with HIV/AIDS.

Sorry to hear about this, that must be scarey as hell. Is it HIV positive or full blown aids? Sorry if i am being intrusive. I had 2 very dear friends of mine, die of aids, and it is such a scary disease to see people suffering with it. It was very kind of you to share this story on EP, because it reminds all of us that sadly none of us are safe with regards to this horrible disease. i hope you are not in too much pain. Bless you!!
