Forever Sisters

I first met Charlotte when I was 8 years old and she moved from South Carolina to Chicago and started going to my church. We hated each other (mainly my fault because I didn't want her imposing on "my" turf)! In 8th grade, Else started attending our church for confirmation classes and Charlotte and I both wanted to be her friend. Rather than fight over Else, we learned to get along. Eventually, we became best friends. Charlotte and I had practically no friends in middle school, but Else had a friend - Katie. Katie joined our little ********* and we became a foursome of best friends. We have helped each other through nearly every situation - moving, anxiety over tests, colleges, deaths, divorces, jealousy, dating, illness... the list goes on. What has bonded us though was originally a book about another group of four best friends "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants". We even started our own "pants" - a notebook that we sent around to each other during the summer filled with stories of our adventures... and not so adventurous points in our lives. We still read it and even though we are separated across the country, we still talk to each other at least once a week. My friends are the reason I am sane - they always know how to cheer me up. And we are all very excited for December when we will be reunited again for Christmas!!!!
