A minor form of autism comes to mind here, but then again: 'phases' are a big thing in being a geek too, I suppose this can be both healthy and unhealthy.
TV shows, books or themes sounds like a healthy geek to me, drugs, alcohol and smoking sounds like an unhealthy geek.

Did I just imply all geeks have autism? No, but I do think a lot of people with autism are geeks, because geekdom thrives on 'phases', it makes life interesting: exploration. :-)

Haha, I love you unhealthy nerd, I'm one of those too, at least used to be. ;-) If you're bothered: healthy geeky behavior is a good substitude for unhealthy phases.

I used to put agressive powders in my nose untill droplets of red fell out, I don't do that anymore, now I have regular gamenights with friends and a glass of wine, playing RPG's and boardgames. ;-)

I write kinky fanfiction and EP... Friends feature in my dreams these days
I'm poor, no drug addiction is cheap so a bottle of Gin does me a week. Bad poet.

Well, just try to not drink alone. Drinking alone is what screwed me up. If I could, I'd share a glass of Gin (okay, I'd want to make it a dry martini, but whatever) together with you. :-)

Bingeing is but a symptom I'm sure
Good luck and find a therapist to point you in the right direction.

Umm, I don't know. You seem normal to me. I think we all go through things like that. Well, people with bipolar disorder will do things in more extremes sometimes when they are in one of their highs.
