Please. Just don't. Seriously.

I had a terrific anger problem. I put up with an abusive man for years, I was so afraid to let my anger come up. This is why: when I was little, maybe 5, my older sister (6) and I got into a fight. Generally we got along well and I don't know what brought this on. Anyhow, she was bigger than me but I was winning, as I was choking her. When she turned colors, I had won! But that night, I had a terrible nightmare, I was again choking her and a tube of sausage-like stuff was coming out of her mouth. It kept on coming and coming. I woke up terrified and ever after that, I refused to get angry. Now I'm 70. You can't teach an old dog new tricks? Oh? I have been seeing a counselor about my cheating rat of a husband and I told her the story. She told me, 'anger is just a way of telling you something's wrong in your life'. She suggested when I felt anger, I should call one of my sisters, or my daughters and tell them about why and what. If no one is available, I am to write it down. Guess what? Magic. I now own my anger. I am calling my sisters, but we've all always been there for each other. I hope this might help.

I would like to help, but don't think this is the place to do it. I can share this with you; hurting yourself because someone made you angry, is not going to change their behavior in any way and it certainly won't help you teach people about your problem and how to solve it, because you won't be here to do so! When you let other people get you that angry, you haven given up your mind, your power and potentially your life. Are they really worth all that? Once you begin to realize your worth, you will learn to control your thoughts and everything will seem different. There are people that can help you and there are ways of helping yourself.
