am a 45 year old female who was diagnosed 5 years ago with AIH. It has been a rollercoaster ride so far. I am currently on azathioprine and off of prednisone(thank God). And I am doing well. Would love to communicate with someone with the same disease. Let me know. Thanks for listening.

  | Posted Nov 4th, 2008 at 6:19AM I also AIH for twelve years now and never been in remission. I'm on prednisone and Immuran and will never beable to get off prednisone. It tool along time to get over the weight issue, depression and daily fatique. I take one day at a time. I stay on top of my labs and I'm in control not the doctors. I ask alot of questions! peg   |
| Posted Jun 15th, 2009 at 11:45AM I am a 65 year old female who was diagnosed with AIH 4 years ago. After about 1 year I was finally off the prednisone - azathioprine and was carting around an extra 120 pounds which I have been unable to get rid of. Anyway I was in remission until just recently and now back on the evil medication! I am trying to watch the calorie intake, but after a few days I do tend to go on a binge! I am also an insulin dependent diabetic and insulin also caused weight gain. Nothing like a double whammy! I am finally feeling better, Just TIRED and achy but none of the flu like symptoms I was experiencing. I would like to hear about your roller coaster ride with AIH. |
| Posted Aug 10th, 2009 at 4:19AM I just got dignosed and after reading comments I am very scared. Is it as bad as everyone is writing. Do you still work, I am 56 years old and never really have been sick until recently. My head hurts, I have severe stomach pain, I have not even started the medician. I am suppose to go back on the 24 of August to start. Will things get worse? |
