Hi this Is Student3 and I am Proud to say I have been Baptized.
I became a member of The Church @ West Cobb (Now Called Mars Hill Community Church) in 1997, but was not saved or been told about baptism until the early months of 2003, I was questioning myself with what the Youth pastor said and at first didn't want to do it, on March 9, 2003 witnessing all of my friends doing it, right then and there been thinking about it. For the next 2 months been praying like crazy and by May and June been close to saying Yes to Jesus as my youth group and I were down in Panama City Beach for a Christian retreat on the beach it was very amazing and emotional and I will never forget it at all; the place called BigStuf. I had stated before BigStuf that I wanted to make a life changing decision and during one of the sessions at Big Stuf I can remember praying while the speaker was talking the Salvation prayer. After the session I then told my youth Pastor (whom left) Thomas Nelson that I accepted Jesus Christ and this is somewhat funny, the place where I told him was in a Doughnut shop.
A few months passed by and, the day came On Sunday October 5, 2003 for the baptism and my family and friends were there watching me, including my small group members who some of them I witnessed earlier in March. I remember to this day I took off my Cross necklace and asked my friend to hold it till after I was baptized because I wanted to be sure that all my sins were washed away. I was baptized by Pastor Thomas Nelson, who had talked to me and is such a good mentor to me, he talked about me a little bit and he asked the two main question normally asked during baptisms and I Said yes. He then dunked me and I remember wearing my Small group shirt with blue jeans. What was emotional about it was that both my parents were on trips for business and my mom came back Saturday night and my dad almost missed it hadn't he not left early just to see me be baptized. I never thought my father would have made if he had not left early to be there for me.
Epilogue
The next day I walked into my high school having my life changed forever, my teachers and friends at school could of not been happy and proud, and on Thursday, 4 days after I was baptized, I went into my Law Enforcement Explorer unit with my life changed there also, and My advisor actually had a copy of the baptism certificate made and placed it in my personal file, something, I was shocked and never expected to see. Months passed and still my life changed I came across the one day I was so scared that I prayed the hardest. The month of April 2004, I was in surgery for a serious injury that if it was left untreated I would have died from. Thinking about it now, I see that as the one day in my life I was glad that I have been baptized before it happened. Never again had I experience this. Years passed by and more faith experiences I encountered from October 5, 2003, including My promotion to Chaplain of Explorers becoming Famous in the Marietta Police Explorers for being the first in history, Singing in front of 250+ campers twice at the same camp, and overcoming my ADHD LD issues by Passing the GA High School Graduation Test and being able to go to College. Each and every day I think back on the Sunday that my life changed forever, and many experiences will come in the near future and God will Promise it to me.
