for Shanny ... i remember when you were afraid to drive the Camry a half mile to get some sodas. And you better know where you are on the point-system before you get any more tickets.

I think i went 100 on the interstate day before yesterday...but only for a lil bit, then i slowed it back down to the snail pace of 90.

for datura ... we're all unique. It never did much for me till I learned the mechanics of creating power and managing it. I've found it fascinating ever since.

Well, I've ridden in planes and trains and driven all the rest of the vehicles, but I can't say that I ever enjoyed speed!

for geet ... snow covered ice I suppose - up north at times. For me personally, there are 3 long stretches of alfalfa field in my neighborhood - where I'm able to see anything comin. Deer are the biggest concern at high speed on a sled, so wide open spaces are best for openin up the 'triples' that hit 100 so quickly. Unfortunately, those wide open spaces are also the easiest for the law to clock you with radar. Good to see you and thanks for the bump, man. =)

for Experienced321 ... Ahhhh yes ... Sunday mornings in the pits at The NorthStar Nationals. Nothin like the the smell of nitrous in the morning. You never forget your first lungful. I watched Shelley Anderson blowover in her Top Fuel dragster about 15 years ago. Still ... gimme a chance and an hour of instruction and I'd strap in ... wouldn't you?

for glg ... for many years ABC's Wide World of Sports used a clip of a Japanese guy in a Hydroplane doin bout a half dozen endos on the lake here during the Nationals. They still hold them here. When I was a tween I'd hang at the shore in the pits and help carry boats back n forth from the trailers to the water - usually get a buck per trip. One year there was a guy brought a two-seater hydroplane to the Nationals and the guy gave me a ride in it. I've always said it's like ridin a slingshot.

Ive bungee jumped too when I was 13 in Lake Tahoe. I was so excited to show my mom the video but OJ Simpson stole my thunder in that car chase that day. I think going that fast in a boat would be terrifying. Ive seen the videos of the cig boats flipping, You're a speed demon!

A sled?

for affinty ... Save for the train and the plane and the boats, I really felt in control of the times when I chose to travel at high speeds. More than a dare it was a matter of matching my experience and skill with the power of something built for travel at those speeds.
