Paris Heat

We stayed in Paris for 15 days back in 2001, in an apartment in the Latin Quarter.  Unfortunately, we arrived just in time for two annoying but interesting phenomena:  1) It was in the 90's (90 degrees F.) every day but one, and without fans or air-conditioning it was stifling!  2) The French Academy was just finishing up, which meant that students, newly graduated, spent much of the night (for several days) combing the streets and yelling out obsenities and generally making as much noise as possible at 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, etc.  With the open windows we had to have to get any relief from the heat, it made for interesting entertainment!

Aside from those problems, I loved everything else about Paris and look forward to a return trip some day. (No, I'm not being sarcastic here; I really did enjoy the atmosphere, the bistros, the cafes, the cemetaries, the nearby villages, et al).
