Got to agree with chromaticome above. This is an opportunity for you to grow. Pursue those things that have been put off too long. Join some clubs or groups that enjoy those things you are interested in. Find a church you can go to and enjoy the fellowship of others.

I am 54 and haven't worked steady in over 6 months now, and instead of being depressed anymore, I got involved in new things, joined a church, joined a weekly meeting group, experimented with new things that I have been interested in for a long time and have been able to grow because of it. Now talk about turning a bummer into a positive thing, this must be it. Let us know how things work out with you.

Did you really "lose" yourself? I am willing to bet that you have actually "given" yourself to your family. That is something very commendable. I hope that you do not get to discouraged but rather find this as an opportunity for you and your husband to grow even closer and embark on a whole new journey in life with one another. I know, easier said than done but I wish you the best nonetheless my friend.
