Just Another Diagnosis!

My story started when I was 20. This was the first time I was diagnosed with Asthma. So, I learned to live with it. After years of on and off prednisone and albuterol, I accepted what I had and dealt with it. Then, in 2005, when I was 53, I was diagnosed with Lupus. I had to take 60 mg of prednisone a day for 3 mos. At that time I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. This, I thought, was as bad as it gets! Wrong! With Lupus, I had to take alot of immune suppressants which led to my many cases of pneumonia 4 or 5 times a year. Then, about a year ago, I was have alot of rattling in my chest that didn't clear up with medication. My doctor sent me to get and X ray. Well, they said my lungs were too badly scarred from pneumonia that they couldn't view it. They took a CAT scan, and that is when they said I had Bronchiectasis. They referred me to a Pulmanologist that did some other tests and found I also had COPD. I am now on alternate antibiotics, albuterol, the 'Vest', oxygen at night, and all the meds I take for Diabetes and Lupus. I asked what my prognosis was and they said it was a balancing act. This was a real blow! Anybody out there have any suggestions? I am now 60 and don't know how long I have left. Is there anyone out there that uses the 'Vest'?
