I Have Carpal Tunnel

I began having trouble in 2002 while remodeling my house. It went from bad to worse then began just happening sparsely. It came back strong in 2008 and the medical doctor I see told me to file a WC claim and have this taken care of by surgery once and for all. I've taken the classes, read books, searched for alternatives and now am at the point of surgery next week. I'm a little scared but the attacks at night are worse and I get no sleep or rest. It is really interfering with my life and work. based on what I find it is a 50/ 50 chance. The specialist I am going to is a great sports medical ortho surgeon so I not worried about her skills. Just wondering if it ever comes back?

    Okay, last June 2012 it was like I got hit by lightening this awful pain at night...I can tolerate a lot of pain given a history of broken bones this was excruciating. To find out its carpal tunnel both wrists. they gave me Naproxen did nothing, I bought a wrist brace least I could sleep at night - need to do the NCT Nerve Conduction Tests they think surgery - me Im for going to acupuncturist have you tried that? I am not keen on surgery either....best of luck.

      The acupuncture will last maybe a week at a time. I tried paying that $80.00 but every week that can add up quick.
      That is exactly how my pain came on, at night with terrible episodes. They will tell you to ice bath your arms..... What a wake up at 2 AM.
