Finally I Know Whats Wrong

It started when i was young. I remember I was 5 years old and diagnosed with ezcema. It was so bad I lost all of my hair. I remember the nurse at school having to cut my socks off my feet and my hands had the worst blisters ever! As I got older it didn't improve, it seemed to get worse. I was later diagnosed being lactose intolerant. Ugh! Years go by and my stomach issues didn't get better. Constant constipation, horrible aches in my lower tummy, felt like someone set my stomach on fire and put it out with needles. I just ignored it. Went to the doctors and they were convinced it was acid reflux. So of course I took tums and nexium. It got to the point where nothing helped! I have been overweight since my son was born. So I would try diets, the fad crash diets. Sure i would lose weight, but I felt horrible doing it. Eating wheat bread instead of white, eating wheat pastas, and such. No wonder! Finally enough was enough! I went to the er, with my pains they ran ct scan (berium is terrible BTW) and found inflammation, bit sent me home with a prescription for tylenol. So I made an appointment with my family physician, and got tested. She told me " well sweetie why didn't you tell me about your problems?" I said i was just going by what others where telling me. It's ok its just gas take some gas x or take some tums. Pop an advil. Yeah well it didn't work anymore! Long and behold I tested positive. My mother and and grandmother have celiac! My fathers mom has dyriticulitous sorry on the spelling. It all made sense now. I have been gluten free for 2 months now. I feel an improvement, but my stomach still hurts every now and then. To anyone that has celiac and wants to share their experiences and knowledge on this disease would be great. I still have so much to learn. Thank you for reading my story.
