I Have Chiari Malformation Type 1
When I was 16 I was in a bad car accident. I blacked out before we hit so I don't remember to much about it. I sprung my neck, had a concussion, and memory loss. About 2 months later I was having black-outs. Started having more headaches, but it was different, felt more like someone was squeezing my brain. Later on it went from black-outs to a seizer episode and from that to loss of consciousness. I was also experiencing numbness and tingling in my face, feet, and hands. Weakness throughout my body, most of the time feeling tried. So I went to the doctor and explained my symptom's and I've already been diagnosed with scoliosis so he said I was depressed, stressed out, and muscle spasms. So he sent me to the back specialist and he thought I had MS. That's when I decided to change doctors because they only took what I said but didn't look at the problem. When I was 18, I went and had a MRI and that's when they found the Chiari Malformation and they diagnosed me with syncope and headaches as well. A month before I was 19, I went to see the neurosurgeon, and he said from my car accident it irritated the Chiari to make me have different symptom's. Which the surgery would be a 50/50 chance on doing anything. So now I've experienced numbness, tingling, vision blurred, headaches, migraines, balance problems, dizziness, loss of consciousness, memory loss, ringing in ears, confusion, and my left arm like paralyzed by curving upwards and my fingers curved almost like a fist but not quite. I'm only 20 years old and I'm a little confused on what my next step should be after what the doctors told me.
