Hi My Name Is Victoria

My name is Victoria I am 24 years old and I am a stage 5 of chronic Kidney failure. I got married March 27, 2010 and so I went to the doctor to get a physical. It had been a while since i done that. I always had insurance but I worked a lot and never liked going to the doctors so I avoided it if possible. My then husband's insurance made me go for a physical before being added to his insurance. I wasn't feeling anything out of the norm and so I did as I was told and went to my new primary doctor. On January of 2011, I got there and was told to do a urine test and a blood test and I would get the results the next week. I went home thinking great! I won't need to go to the doctors for a while and its done. I got a call the next day to come back in because the tests results were weird. I did both tests again and once again was told to wait a week. He told me not to worry about it because i looked and felt fine so it must a been a mistake. Again the results were alarming. I received a call the very next day and was told to refer that day to a nephrologist's office. I was that day diagnosed with Kidney Failure. At that time I had 10% of my kidney function. Now, a May of 2011, I just had my dialysis port surgery done last week. I am ready to start peratonieum dialysis in June. I am 24 yrs old and I am scared of not ever being normal again. I was told that it can take years to get a kidney and this type of dialysis has a life span of 10-20 yrs. That means sooner or later I will have to do blood dialysis. Blood dialysis is very tough on a persons' body.

I am so sorry. Now, I know what I have to look forward to. Just one question... Did you get married?
