That is awesome to hear. I am 23 weeks pregnant, and I have just found out that our baby has dextrocardia, so just waiting for our specialist appointment next week to find out the extent. So far on the ultrasounds, everything looks ok, but they are sending us for a fetal cardiogram, so feeling a bit sensitive at the moment, as baby moves around more and I felt him stick out of my tummy yesterday and kick, then I had a beautiful dream about holding him in my arms. I just hope that my dream comes true.

Hi there. I got your response to my post and thought i would reply and let you know how we are going with Emily. Emily is now 15 months old and is a happy, healthy and normal toddler. When she was born they took her just took a few more precautions just in case there was a problem straight after birth (everything was fine). They took x rays the day she was born and confirmed the dextrocardia and situs inversus and that we should just see a pediatrician every six weeks until she was about 6 months old to keep an eye on things. We too had a fetal cardiogram when i was pregnant to check everything was okay with Emily and they could see nothing to be concerned about. They asked us to go back when she was about 6 weeks old to have another look which we did and they found then, that she had a small hole in her heart, but they are confident that it will either close by itself (can be found in babies that dont have Dex Sit Inv anyway) and if it does not close, then they will perform a procedure which will plug the hole. I understand that you and your partner will be feeling very anxious at the moment. I am sure everything will be fine. If you want you can email me at jaffa_001@yahoo.com.au. All the best. Jan

Wow! They can see that on ultrasound?? How cool! Kinda makes you wonder how it was missed with us younger folk (I'm 27).
