My Daughter Was Diagnosed With Dextrocarida With Situs Inversus Totalis

My daughter was not diagnosed with Dextrocarida until she was 10 years old.  A community college in our area was doing free echocardiograms, so we decided to have one done on each of my youngest girls.  It was at this time that we found out her diagnosis.  We went to see a cardiologist in our area who has been practicing for over 35 years, he repeated the echocardiogram and said her heart looked fine- all of the major vessels were connected properly her heart was just on the right side instead of the left and facing backwards.  She also had a chest x-ray done which revealed that she had situs inversus totalis which means that all of her internal organs are mirror image.  He also stated that he would probably never have to see her again-she had a perfectly healthy heart.  We did need to get a medic alert bracelet so medical responders would know of her condition in case she were ever in an accident.  She would also need to let her physician know of her diagnosis if she were ever hospitalized.  She is perfectly healthy- on the swim team and everything.

I have considered getting a bracelet for myself, but after reading some of the others experiences I can't help but think it unnecessary and be glad my parents never made a big deal out of it. I quite honestly forget about it most times and its fun when I remember, makes me feel special all over again, in the best of ways.

Hello my daughter is 3 and is diagnosed with the same as your daughter. I would like to know where did you get her medical bracelet from so I can get one for my daughter. Thanks
