In Denial

I am 44 and have been a diabetic since I was 21. I am the only member of my family with any type of diabetes. I know how to treat my diabetes but I can't seem to do it. I have been hospitalized more times than I can count.
I have severe kidney disease, not yet on dialysis but probably soon. I really want to take care of myself better but I can't
If there was a place I could go almost like a rehab to change my mind set I think it would really help me.

hi! I'm 33year old woman diabetic 30years, using insulin pump the last 13years. I'm ok, but I have this weird heart ache. I wish you all the best. take care of yourself 'cause you have no other choice...

You just have to discipline yourself, eat correctly, take your meds, see your endocrinologist every 3 months, and most of all check your blood sugar. You will be amazed how much better you can feel once your diabetes is managed. I understand it is easier said then done but believe in yourself and make it happen.
