I Have Diabetic Amyotrophy
I AM NOW 70 AND 1/2 YEArs old. When I was 68 I had periods of weakness which didn't last moe than a few minutes. What was the pre-cursor of eveything was a pronounced bleeding of the gums around all of the teeth. A visit to a dentist who had knowledge of diabetics easily cured that problem.
However, it has to be noted that was the beginning of the disease, and at age 69 the amyotrophy was in full swing! Extreme pain on the bottom of my feet, to a degree that
walking or standing was almost impossible and others assistance needed just t walk. my inability to discern what was under my feet,
i. e. gravel, cement, wood, anything I would step on with my feet would would be such that the underside of my feet would send a garbled signal to the brain and and I COULD NOT WALK AT ALL! The flesh wasting and severe leg pain and cramps soon followed with a weight loss of over 40 lbs on each side of my legs, running from across tthe bottom to the ankle completely destroying every part of my lower body!
