What My Mum Said to Me

When my children were born, I swore to myself that I would never say things to them that my mum always said to me. Now that they're older, I've lost count of the times that I've told them too:

'Lift you're feet up when you're walking'

'Stop scuffing you're shoes!'

You're just doing you're job properly! The most frightening thing for me is that I do sound like my mother!

I told myself when I become a grown up I'd still be one of the kids and always have fun. Now I work at a daycare and am often telling kids not to run inside, or stand on chairs, or jump off the table. All the things I used to do as a kid. I am not a fun adult.
