One In Particular.

I've had several dreams come true in my life, but one was worse than the others.  I had been engaged to a man who ended up going to school in England.  We made it through a year of that and then broke up due to the distance.  We remained friends.

We hadn't spoken in a while, but I wasn't dwelling on it or even really thinking of him much at all because I was very busy with things in my own life.  Then one night, I had a terrible nightmare about him.  I was sitting underneath a peach tree on a curving road at night.  The peaches had fallen off the tree, and I was eating one.  It was rotten, and there was a worm in it, but I couldn't stop eating it.  Down the road on the curve was my ex.  He was being mangled by a horrible monster.  I couldn't go to help him.  I just had to keep eating the rotten fruit.  It doesn't really sound that terrible, but I woke up in a sweat and couldn't get him out of my mind or get back to sleep.

I wrote him an email and told him about the dream.  I asked him to please email me back and tell me he was okay.  I told him I knew it was silly, but I couldn't get the dream out of my head.  He didn't write me back for a week.  When he did, he told me he'd been in a terrible car accident.  He had broken several bones, was cut up a lot all over his body and had been in the hospital.  Apparently the dream I had freaked out a bunch of his friends, but it's not like I caused it to happen.

I've had other dreams about things that were true, but I don't think any of them freaked me out as much as this one.  My mom told me that her mother used to have dreams like that, too.

your inability to move represents physical distance. The rotten fruit is your bittersweet feelings, and the rest of the dream was the prophecy
