Invisbility

My major problem with chp 3 now is how do I show the point of view character turning invisible. The myths say they just diappear (the people and their homes). But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to show that character turning invisible from his point of view. Anyone have any suggestions. I'm going bonkers over here!
