Hi I am 37 and wiLl be having a second operation for fibroids in April. am so grateful to everyone sharing their stories. I feel so depressed and I am so emotional. I just feel that life is not fair. There are just no guarantees in life. I dont drink or smoke and have always exercised. I noticed my tummy growing and I TOO THOUGHT i WAS NOT EXERCISING ENOUGH BUT ALAS

What have you decided to do about your fibroids, and how are you feeling now?



I know that you have probably tried many things already. However, if you are up for trying

a few easy dietary changes and natural supplements-- I am a licensed nutritional counselor and Health Coach, in Brooklyn, NY, and I specialize in helping women melt uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts naturally. I have helped many women dissolve painful breast lumps, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids through natural means such as dietary changes and a few inexpensive natural supplements. (Sometimes a switch in kinds of make-up, and/or a better water filter is also good, but these need not be expensive or complex). You really can shrink your own fibroids without drugs or surgery. The causes of fibroids are a bit different for every women. As you probably know, an overload of estrogen, often toxic synthetic estrogen from hormone-loaded meat and dairy, pesticides, and parabens in personal products is often involved. Sometimes women need to eat liver-cleansing foods to cleanse their liver so that it can better process estrogens. Lots of root vegetables, different ones for different women, milk thistle can be helpful. Sometimes emotional issues are involved and need to be addressed--I have found that most women with fibroids and cysts are the nicest people, the ones who put others' needs first and don't express anger when they experience it. Sometimes buried anger can contribute to fibroids. Also, fibroids and cysts are by definition a sign of an iodine deficiency. Iodine, which every cell in our body needs, enables our body to dispel toxins and to regulate the endocrine system. Most of us get enough iodine through our diet. But, we are deficient because competing halides--fluoride, bromide, and chlorine--enter our system through water and food, and when they do they deplete our body of iodine. Getting a water filter that eliminates all the chlorine and fluoride is a great help, a shower filter helps, and most importantly, replenishing the body's store of iodine. Japanese women, who consume 500 times the amount of iodine that American women do, have almost zero incidence of fibroids or of breast cancer. Pretty amazing, right? There are many ways to do this... some women choose to have a seaweed salad every day, but for many it is easier to supplement iodine, just until the body is back up to sufficiency. The iodine must be in the right form and it must be accompanied by the use of sea salt, becuase the chloride in sea salt helps our bodies expel the toxins that iodine enables the body to release. (Chloride is beneficial and necessary for mineral cell transport, it is only chlorine, which is very different, which is a toxic halide that competes with iodine). Another issue in firboids is food choose. Most women with fibroids are blood-type A, because the A-antigen mimics estrogen. So a woman with firboids who is blood-type A needs to eat foods that fuel, rather than inflame, her body. The foods that cause inflammation are not necessarily what you would expect--often they are very healthy foods. One man's poison is another man's medicine--it is really true. For example, oranges and orange juice actually cause inflammation that leads to fibroids for many women--but grapefruit juice and fruit is beneficial. Aside from the question of food, there is the question of low progesterone. You can actually raise your progesterone level naturally, without cream or chemicals, just by eating certain foods. And raising your progesterone levels will shrink fibroids. So as you can see, there are a few factors to consider, and different ones are at play for different people. What I do is help clients determine what factors are causing fibroids for them--whether it is a clogged liver, an iodine deficiency, a progesterone deficiency, etc. And I help them determine what foods, supplements and lifestyle changes will remedy the condition. The changes are not complicated, and as I said, they don't need to be expensive.
