Just Diagnosed

I have been dealing with nausea, occasional vomiting, and diarrhea for years. This past year I started to get acid reflux so badly that it prompted me to go into the doctor. They sent me to GI when the regular medication did nothing for my symptoms.

I had an ultrasound, an EGD. Both came back normal. I was completely shocked when my Gastric emptying scan came back positive and I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. After I got the phone call, I looked it up and saw that, sure enough, I have almost all of these symptoms.

I have my appointment with the doctor next month to go over it in more detail, but I'm a little nervous that this is not a quick fix. I don't know what this means for my life. I just hope that now that we've finally found an answer I can start feeling better!!

Thanks to anyone who has read this!

I wish you the best. I have been dealing with this for months now and got my diagnosis through and EGD and Gastric Emptying test this month. I take Reglan which is extremely dangerous. I would look up a GP diet and try to follow it as closely as possible so your symptoms might lessen. Keep us updated! :-)

I was also recently diagnosed after a couple years of not being able keep food down. I'm diabetic too so it didn't come as a shock as I also have neuropathy. This condition can be awful and I had to learn from trial and error what to eat. I now have smoothies with bananas and almond milk everyday and lots of soft food and liquids, I can't drink soda with a soft food meal, carbonated drinks make it worse. I was precribed domperidome which isnt available in USA...I need to find a compounding Pharmacy to make it and hope my insurance will help cover it! It is a difficult diagnosis and I hope you find comfort from knowing others are out there to talk to~ take care!
